We Have a Great Story…

How it all began 75 years ago…

7 Crates?!

In 1947 after Parke returned home from serving in WWII, he and new wife Emily bought an army surplus truck. They drove their Studebaker 2,000 miles to Warren, Ohio where, to their great surprise, they found the truck in 7 crates! Undaunted, they got the truck put together and with the Studabaker in the back, drove 35 mph during daylight only (it had blackout lights) back to St. George, Utah! Thus launching the Parke Cox Trucking legacy! In the 80's Parke sold the business to sons Dave and Don Cox who have grown the company to where it is today. We are big enough to attract large customers, but small enough to remember our roots and what keeps the business running - our drivers and support staff!

Community Support…

Local Recognition

Being one of the oldest trucking companies in Southern Utah and having served the St. George community through employment, needed freight and local events - we get noticed. This clip was put together by a TV station in Salt Lake City and chronicles the early days of Cox Trucking with Parke and Emily who are, thankfully, still with us today at 101 and 99 years of age!

I like working for Cox Trucking because I am treated like a person not just a number. In addition, owners and management value faily time as much as I do and I never feel bad when asking to use PTO. Also, Cox Trucking makes sure all equipment is maintained and serviced regularly so breakdowns are a minimum.

75 years of history…

The Heart of Cox Trucking

While this video is a couple of years old, it includes important footage of our founders and current owners and management and it still resonates today. Dave and Don Cox as our owners have lived and breathed trucking their entire lives. Our third generation of Cox family Brecken Cox speaks with passion of why he came back to trucking. The challenges we face today we know how to handle through the courage and fortitude of those who came before! As we enjoy celebrating our 75th year we reflect on the past and especially on our future.

Sharing our passion for trucking…

National Recognition

We were honored to be the trucking company chosen by The History Channel to be part of their program, “It’s How You Get There”. Not only was it a lot of fun, but it showcased the trucking industry and allowed us to share our beautiful terminal and maintenance area and the City we have called home for 75 plus years with America.

The Cox Trucking Family consists of our professional drivers, our dedicated administrative staff including recruiting, safety, operations and finance and our maintenance team all of whom keep our trucks running down the highway!

Below we highlight some of our great drivers who went above and beyond as they traveled America’s Highways!
