Count on Cox Trucking!

A Win-Win Situation…

Management Commitments:

You are joining a trucking family and we will treat you with the respect you deserve.

  • You will never be a number – always a name.

  • You have a life - and it matters to us! We will do our best to help you find the work/money/life balance that you desire.

  • We will pay you fairly for your performance.

  • Stability – we are in this for the long haul

  • We will equip you with upgraded, safe late-model equipment.

  • Breakdowns. We don’t. Last year 129 drivers ran 6,700,000 miles and we paid out 8 breakdown pays. That is .00000119% breakdowns per miles run.

  • We will provide you a “home away from home” (Our Drivers’ Lounge is open 24/7 and we have a computer and printer, big screen TV, an on-site gym, free laundry facilities, free showers and a barbecue and eating area.)

  • We will cover you with great health, medical, dental, life and EAP insurance. And we help you plan for the future with a 401(k) match

Mutual Respect…

Driver Expectations:

  • Communicate with us.  It is key to your success

  • Treat those you encounter at and for Cox Trucking with respect – other drivers, your logistics coordinator everyone you work with.  Mean people suck and we don’t hire them.

  • Uphold our great service record by being on time for deliveries

  • Use safe driving best practices and protect the public and our equipment.

  • We expect you to be a professional and show up when scheduled and do your best

  • When you have a problem – please come talk to us. Again, communication is key to your success and ours!

Another Driver’s Experience with Cox Trucking

Mike is now our Driver Training Coordinator. He was great on the road and he is great in the classroom. We promote from within when we have a position open and a driver who meets the qualifications for the job. It is a win/win!

We can’t make this stuff up.…

A fleet to fit your lifestyle…

Fleets -

During the last year, we streamlined our operation. We have become much more efficient by developing different types of fleets that work together to meet our customer expectations and our driver’s lifestyles. One size does not fit all in the trucking industry. Do you want to make maximum money? Or do you need to be home more. Our fleets have something for everyone, but some positions are not available for all hiring locations.

Pick your Plan! Do you want more money or more home time? Run long or go point-to-point on a dedicated run? Each plan has its own performance-based pay package. Call our recruiter to get a one-on-one analysis of your best fit.

  • Runs dry van freight over the road. Typically, out for 7-10 days (unless driver prefers longer runs). Based on Pay for Performance CPM/Bonus plan.

  • Runs freight using a flatbed truck and Conestoga trailer. No tarping. Paid on a CPM/Bonus basis. Runs are typically 5-7 days but often home on weekends.

  • In St. George, Salt Lake and Vegas we have drivers that typically drop and hook from one of two locations they drive to daily. These lucrative positions are mileage/bonus based and home daily with two days off per 70-hour clock. Drivers must live within 30 minutes of home terminal.

  • This position is the least structured of all the fleets. Drivers run wherever needed. Not mileage based so pay is not affected by miles. Salary-type based pay - (amount is “guaranteed” with five day’s work) with bonus potential. Can be out 3-5 days.

  • We have local fleets in SoCal, Salt Lake City and St. George. These positions deliver the freight dropped by the dedicated drivers and make local deliveries. There are day/night shifts available. Home daily and two days off per week. Daily pay rate is based on hours worked. Bonus eligible.

“Cox Trucking is the best company I have ever worked for. They care about their employees in ways other companies never will. Being able to prosper myself with a company allows me as an employee to give back what Cox has given me, a fulfilling life of prosperity and a feeling of accomplishment. Thank you, Cox Family, for allowing me the chance to feel good about my job and having a career with this family.”

Count on Cox Trucking to get you home…

Safety is Our Way of Life

Bryant Shulsen is our Safety Director. He is a former driver himself and extremely well-versed in safety and safety technology. Our safety department is here to serve! They serve the company, our drivers, the driving public and assure we meet all FMCSA regulations. We believe safety should be one of the highest priorities we have. Our safety record speaks for itself. We currently rank in the top percentage of trucking companies our size. Our CSA score speaks for itself. We want our drivers to have a great relationship with our Safety Director and to reach out to our Training Coordinator when questions arise about weather related issues, safety questions, truck operation or Cox best practices.

This team will guide you through the orientation process and make sure you have an understanding of Cox Trucking’s best practices and company policies. But equally important - you will build a rapport with them and the Cox Management team from day one. You will know the safety team and they will know you as you walk out the door to make your first run. Safety is everyone’s job! We are in this as a team.

Cox Trucking Maintenance

Only the best here. Beyond A/B Maintenance.

We don’t break down…

Equipment

As you can see, our equipment is beautiful. We run well-maintained Volvo and Freightliner tractors. We don’t keep them longer than three years and we perform more than A-B Service. Our Maintenance Department can stand up to any trucking company of any size. We don’t breakdown (almost ever and if by chance you do, we will make you whole). We don’t run recaps and we upgrade everything. We don’t look at the price tag when buying new trucks - we get a truck that is going to be most safe and comfortable for a driver, order it and then look at the cost. Cost is secondary when it comes to our driver’s comfort and especially safety! It has always been of upmost importance to Cox Trucking to have the most beautiful, safe trucks on the highway. And we do.
